Here’s a quote from Yojokun – Life Lessons from a Samurai. “Generally speaking, the human body is weak and transient. It is like a lamp in the wind, a precarious thing that is easily blown out. Treat your body as a matter of great importance.” This book was written by Kaibara Eikiken, a doctor for the Samurai in the late 1600’s. Nothing has changed. You still need to take care of your body. Ki Gong breathing, movement and meditation has been used for thousands of years as a natural approach to caring for your body, mind and spirit. It is obvious to me that we can learn from these traditional approaches to health and build upon the wisdom of the ages in our modern times.
