Everyday I wake up and spend some time thinking and reading before all the action in our house gets going. Often these early morning sessions are related to the newest research in back pain relief or sports injury treatment. But today I thought about this and I really want to share it with you. There is something very important – and I thought you should know about it.
There is an old story about a grandson going to visit his grandfather just moments before he passed away. The grandson asks the grandfather if there is anything he did in his life he regrets. The grandfather replies, “There is nothing in my life that I regret doing – the only thing I regret are the things I did NOT do.”
As the story goes, the grandfather went on to tell the boy some of the things he wished he did, but didn’t get around to. He thought that he would get around to them “some day” when he had more time, but that “someday” never came.
Having plans helps you achieve things in life. Creating your life starts with seeing what you want but it doesn’t stop there. The most important thing is to feel good about the actions you are taking toward your goals. Negative emotions can get in the way of your goals and too often we concentrate on fear of the unknown. We only see and talk about the bad. In fact what we see as “bad” is actually just our perception of the situation. We see things the way we see them and to be sure, if all you see is the bad in things, you are missing a lot of opportunities. Because in reality, there is plenty of positive stuff to focus on.
For me some of the most positive experiences that I have in my life are relationships with people like you. So I’d like to take a few minutes to say thank you for our relationship. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your life. Whether we work together in chiropractic, performance coaching, martial arts or just get to hang out in nature together, I really am grateful to be a part of your life.
People like you always make my day better. I really enjoy helping you with life challenges but when you hang out with me long enough you know that our relationship goes beyond pain relief or natural health strategies and toward a happier moment in time.
So stop and think about what’s great in your life – and be thankful. It is guaranteed to instantly make you happier! And if it makes you happy, I’m good with it.
